We are a law firm operated with a start-up mentality. To us, the start-up mentality meaning two things: agile development of new systems and processes; and finding and fixing pain points.
We apply agile development methodology, meaning we implement new technology which may not work perfectly right away, with the confidence in our ability to adapt and address issues as they arise. For example, we manage the firm using Asana, a project management tool designed for software development, which we customized for the practice of law. The customization is ongoing, but already Asana facilitates team collaboration greatly reducing our need for emails and phone calls..
We find and fix pain points, for instance, we noticed that real estate agents and mortgage brokers lacked easy access to the legal fees associated with a home purchase. So we designed and built www.pricemyconveyance.com, a residential real estate closing cost calculator. Now, other real estate professionals can give their clients a better understanding of the total cost of their new home.
